OUR WORK

Bringing Worldwide Cinema to Volusia County

At the heart of The Reel Film Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) 3, lies the passion of a few first generation, indie filmmakers, committed to encouraging the next generation of creators. Though moving pictures have transitioned from developed film to digital video, we are left with what has always been - a story told in pictures.  We share our passion for visual storytelling with young people and our community, while enabling local students to tell their stories, and even pursue pathways to film education, leading to industry jobs in the growth explosion that is both Volusia County, and Modern Florida.

"I couldn’t study chemistry, but I could memorize all the books for Dungeons and Dragons. It was ridiculous. The trick is to find what you like to do.”

Jon Favreau

"But I always say, if you want to heal the ills of the world, it can be done through film. ... The real stories with depth and complexity. Characters with foibles and strength. If you see yourself on the screen, participating in all of this, you have hope of a future."

                                                                                  Julie Dash
